The Her Dignity project is now actively making a difference in Somaliland, empowering women and girls to claim their rights and live free from gender-based violence.
Following its official launch in October 2025, the project began its implementation phase in late December 2025, after completing essential administrative and partnership arrangements.
Implemented by Nordic Impact in partnership with Somaliland Promoting Society (SPS), the project focuses on preventing gender-based violence and eliminating female genital mutilation (FGM).
Community-based behavior change campaigns, awareness-raising sessions, and training for healthcare workers and local leaders are now underway in target communities. These activities aim to strengthen the capacity of women, girls, and communities to prevent FGM and promote gender equality, health, and psychosocial well-being.
In parallel, the project is supporting SPS in strengthening its organizational capacity, with a focus on internal democracy, gender equality, organizational development, and results-based management.
The project will run until Mars 2027.
